@IowaSTEM Having grace is an important thing because as long as the educators are doing their best to implement then that will be more help then you can imagine. That being said making sure that they are connected to other educators as well as their Scale Up provider will go a long ways.
@TanyaHu0907@IowaSTEM Agreed @TanyaHu0907 it is powerful to show yourself that vulnerable but easier to say than done especially when most educators already feel that few things are under their control at this time.
@IowaSTEM I think a true testament to educators everywhere is shared learning right along with their students. It is a valuable lesson for all to see someone be brave and attempt something new and fail forward, learning at it's best! Creating and shaping future Innovators! #IASTEMchat
Q2: For educators scaling a STEM program at home, school, informal educational settings or in hybrid mode, what are some tips you can offer others in similar circumstances? #IASTEMchat#ScaleUp
@IowaSTEM A3: It would also be helpful to have informal Zoom meetings to collaborate with other teachers in our grade levels. I loved seeing how @JoliePelds used her GoPro during our summer sessions. #elem#IASTEMchat
@IowaSTEM It would be extremely helpful to have STEM Scale Ups do some modeling of how teachers can handle the process from a distance when having check ins with educators. On that note I think it is nice when Scale Ups have periodic check ins, they can be cumbersome but beneficial
@IowaSTEM Mine could be done easily from a distance and it was for HS and that allows for more flexibility than an elementary one I feel #STEMInnovator
@IowaSTEM Difficult to answer as every scale up is different. Some include hands on manipulative, maybe the teacher can make videos of the activities. Or possibly send the manipulative home to kids
