Bluevale Community Club

Over the last year we have been working with students from GMAC & University of Glasgow to create a short documentary on Bluevale Community Club 🤩🎬📽️ As part of this the students done some research on our organisation and attended our services, speaking to staff, volunteers & service users to find out more about what we do 😊 Please take some time to watch the short documentary below which showcases our work within the Dennistoun & Haghill community 🌟 As this documentary was created over the last year it also features volunteer & service user Dean Clearie who we sadly lost earlier in the year therefore this video is also dedicated to Dean ❤️ Thanks to @GMACFilm, @UofGlasgow and the students for choosing Bluevale Community Club for this fantastic opportunity 🥰 Thanks as always to our funders @GlasgowCC, @corrascot , @CashforKidsWest , @TNLComFundScot , @RobertsonTrust & @SC_LotteryTrust for continuing to support the work we do ❤️

We had another great day on Wednesday at our FREE ASN Arts & Crafts programme as we got creative and had some fun 🎨🖌️ For this weeks project we made cute little baby chicks using lollipop sticks 🐥 First we made triangles out of the sticks by gluing them together before we then painted them yellow to make them look more like baby chicks 😄 While we waited on them to dry we drew round our hands to make the baby chick’s wings and cut them out, we also cut out the heads a beaks ✂️ Once the paint was dry we were able to stick on our wings, heads and beaks for the finishing touches 🌟 We still have some space in this free programme which takes place every Wednesday from 5:30pm until 6:30pm at the Salvation Army Hall. We are pleased to announce that our FREE Adaptive Fitness classes will be returning better than ever from next week 🤩 Our new adaptive fitness class are designed so everyone can participate — regardless of ability, injury history, or fitness level. We are pleased to announce that Bluevale Boxing Club will be holding our home show, Clash On Clydeside, on Friday 17th April in the Kerrydale Suite at Celtic Park 🤩 This will be a fantastic evening of amateur boxing with loads of talent on show from across the country 🥊 There will be a delicious buffet on offer provided by the catering team at Celtic Park along with live music and a DJ 🕺 As our boxing club is completely free to the young people who attend, home show’s are how we raise money to keep the boxing club running. Money raised for home show’s go towards registering boxers with Boxing Scotland, medicals, entry fee’s for competitions, travel and other expenses that come with boxing across the country 🌟 Tickets are £50 per person and can be purchased by sending us a private message or sending an email to homeshow@bluevale.cc 🎟️ We hope to see everyone there for what will be a fantastic night at a world renowned venue 🏟️

We had a great night last night as we took some young people from our boxing club on a FREE trip to Flip Out Glasgow 😁 After a busy few weeks for our boxing club and some more busy times ahead we’ve decided to have more of a chilled week for the young people 🥊 Last night the young people had loads of fun running around, playing football and using the different equipment at Flip Out 🌟 Thank you to @STVAppeal for funding this trip ❤️

A reminder that our FREE Mini Jabberz boxing class for children born in 2014-2017 runs every Wednesday from 4pm until 5pm at our boxing gym in 1 Finlay Drive, G31 2BD 🥊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 This class allows children to learn the sport of boxing with the aim of competing in amateur boxing competitions for Bluevale Boxing Club in the near future 💪 If your child wants to start boxing and become a champion then send us a private message or email liam@bluevale.cc 📩

We had a great start to our FREE 6 week Children’s ASN Arts & Crafts programme on Wednesday in the Salvation Army hall 🤩 For this week we created a cool looking Walrus using paper plates 🎨 First we painted our plates brown to match the colour of a Walrus with all kids getting to mix their own paint for the perfect colour 🌟 We then had to wait for the paint to dry before we could add some walrus features, while waiting for this we done some fun word searches and colouring in sheets 😊 Once our plates were dry we glued on the finishing touches, adding eyes, ears, tusks and a nose 😄 At the end of the session we listened to some music, had some juice and made friendship bracelets 🌟 There is still some space left on this programme, if you’d like to register your child please email jacktaylor@bluevale.cc 📩 Thanks to @STVAppeal for funding this programme ❤️

We are pleased to announce that we will once again be running a FREE Easter holiday programme for 5-12 year olds with the return of our Easter Extravaganza for 2026 🐣 This years Easter holiday programme will be running every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 7th - 16th April starting at 10am and finishing at 3pm on the majority of the days 🤩 The Easter club will be running from Whitehill Secondary School on the majority of the days while we continue to work towards obtaining a community centre 🥰 As always we will be providing breakfast and lunch throughout the programme 😋 Due to the popularity of our school holiday programmes and the limited amount of spaces available we will once again be running a ballot 🌟 If you’d like to enter your child into the ballot for this years Easter holiday programme you can do so at the link below ⬇️ bluevale.cc/easter-ballot

A really successful weekend has marked the end of an unbelievable Boxing Scotland Golden Gloves Championships for Bluevale Boxing Club 🥊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 More information on each individual bout can be found on our Facebook post 💪 Overall it’s been a fantastic championships for our club with 8 boxers entered and 6 medals. We really look forward to seeing how our growing team develops as some of our boxers are now entered into assessments to represent Scotland at the GB Three Nations 🥊 We started our week of celebrations by ending tonight’s session with some domino’s pizza 🍕 @BoxingScotland @sportscotland

One of our young 2016 boxers, Jaxson, had his first exhibition bout today in Dublin, Ireland against some good young boxers from both Ireland and England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇮🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Jaxson started at our Mini Jabberz boxing class where he learned the basics of the sport before moving up to our main boxing class to train with all of our carded boxers and is now a carded boxers himself at just 9 years old 🥊 Our FREE Mini Jabberz class for children born between 2014 and 2017 takes place every Wednesday from 4pm until 5pm at our boxing gym in 1 Finlay Drive, G31 2BD 🌟 This is the main pathway for children into our boxing club and we are always looking for the next champion 💪 If your child would like to try out this class please send us a private message or email liam@bluevale.cc 📩 Well done Jaxson, one to watch for the future 👏

We had a great night last night as we took a group of local young people on a FREE trip to The Irn Bru Carnival 🎡🎢🎠 All young people met up at our facility on Finlay Drive before we headed to Bridgeton for a train to the exhibition centre 🚂 While at the carnival we went on all different kinds of thrilling rides and had loads of fun, we also played some fun carnival games at the different stalls available 😀 Thanks to Glasgow City Council, The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland & Scottish Children's Lottery Trust for funding our community activities ❤️
