He also has deep connections and sway with the IRGC, and at least 20% of the Iranian people still support the Islamic Republic. Iranians have expressed doubts about whether "regime change" is even realistic and whether this war will leave them better off than when it began The US has also squandered expensive military equipment and the war is costing taxpayers nearly $2 billion per DAY. US troops are dead. We're killing noncombatants and children; bombing hospitals and schools, heritage sites, and civilian infrastructure. Iranians have no power to mount resistance, but Trump is telling them to "rise up" so HE can avoid having to take responsibility for the chaos that follows as he desperately searches for an offramp. The Iranian people will march to their deaths because the violent regime has not "changed" and Iranians are far from being "liberated." Meanwhile, global trade is being disrupted, markets are shocked, oil prices are rising... The US economy is a mess. Trump's policies were exploding the debt and deficit BEFORE the war started.
