I’ve also seen people use their follower counts as defense/justification. “I wouldn’t have elevnty billion followers if I was a bad person”, is very much a mentality that exists. Also leveraging a large following in order to run subtle smear campaigns also exists.

Follower count and how well known you are in the “community” is in no way a solid indicator of emotional intelligence or your quality of character. Hot people, hot photos, hot videos, active posting - none of that means “good smart person with solid ethics.”
