Today’s episode of #Corrie is outstanding. It’s hard-hitting, powerful, and deeply important. Huge credit to everyone involved. Genuinely one of the most powerful episodes of tv I’ve seen.

This moving video highlights the saddening prevalence of domestic violence cases addressed in tonight’s Coronation Street, where we see Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) finally harnessing the strength to report partner Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) to the police. The actors featured, who play both well known Coronation Street characters and guest artists, are all seen either dressed in an item of purple clothing or featuring a purple accessory, as part of a collaboration with the show’s design team. Purple is the colour used globally to represent domestic violence awareness. Seen as a symbol of peace, courage, survival, and dedication to ending abuse. Definitely one of my favorite episodes to date as of now. It was hauntingly beautiful in its care of how it dealt with such a serious real world problem that happens to more people than you think it does. #Corrie

I’m so fucking impressed with today’s episode of Corrie. It was so well done and beautifully written and executed, as it took itself so seriously and didn’t cut any corners on showing how dangerous and scary abuse is. #Corrie

Lisa’s speech was so powerful and beautiful. As she spoke it, over the different abuse victims it showed in all different situations and how they can heal and get away from their abusers eventually. #Corrie

All their reactions at the hospital was so sad to watch, none of them are to blame for that fucking monster’s reactions. #Corrie

Theo don’t fucking lie acting like Todd is aggressive like you and caused the abuse from you. I hope they find all the evidence they need on his devices. #Corrie

I love how Summer dashed off immediately to get to Todd at the hospital. #Corrie

George is so sweet not wanting to drink, so if Todd called and needed anything he could get to him. Tyrone feeling guilty that he should’ve seen Todd’s abuse and Fiz comforting him about how she saved him when he was in the same situation. #Corrie

I love how Gary gave Theo no choice but to get in the van or that he would beat him with his own wrench. Gary isn’t giving him a chance to run from going to the police station. #Corrie
