Dear gaming protocols: Don't fuck up communication and user experience like @MaviaGame Mavia just made me feel rugged after a while. As a Mavia Land owner, I received a few $MAVIA in the airdrop. At TGE, the price was about $2 and the gas fee was high. So I decided to not claim it and ignore it for a while. I acknowledged that I must claim this airdrop before 20 Feb as stated in its official blog (14 days after TGE which is 6 Feb). Then today (17 Feb), I went back to claim the airdrop but couldn't. The website showed that it was closed. I went to Mavia's Discord and was shocked by its announcement: "...The deadline for claiming the Mavia token airdrop has been adjusted to an earlier date than previously announced. The final date to submit your claim is now Thursday, February 15th, with all claims due by 11:59 PM EST. ...." "...Our analysis indicates that the remaining unclaimed airdrops are predominantly associated with farmer wallets, ... In the interest of the community and to prevent exploitation of such strategies, we have decided to close the claiming process earlier than initially planned...." They asked me to fill out its "$MAVIA Post-Deadline Application" and look at its response: "Your Post-Deadline application has been submitted for review. If accepted, you will be contacted." My thoughts on this user experience are (read this @MaviaGame): • You don't have the right to say "In the interest of the community" if this action causes a lot of users trouble. • You can't just tell users 24 hours in advance that you will move up the deadline because you want to prevent sybil farmers. Why didn't you plan this in advance? • You said, "Filling out the form below does not mean you are guaranteed a claim. Each submission is being reviewed." Why treat users like they are wrong? • "If accepted, you will be contacted." - Contact via which channels? my email? Discord ? What if a scammer impersonates you? Contact your users and scam their funds? • You didn't communicate about this on the Twitter account, and you expected all the unclaimed users to notice this within 24 hours. Are you out of your mind? Let's see how this ends, will keep you updated on my experience with this team. 💀
