@Skirt_Go_Spinny I don't have any beliefs that you or I can't doubt, which honestly can kind of suck sometimes because it means you don't really have a stable identity. I could become a radically different person just by letting my mind settle on different ideas for a while.

Cults require only 1 thing, and it's not a charismatic leader. It is the mechanism when your beliefs become impossible to question bc they have become fused with group identity. Once a belief system fuses completely with the identity of its members, the group polices itself. No leader has to enforce loyalty when loyalty has become the same thing as existing.
