@JackPerksPhoto Minnows and Sticklebacks. It would be lovely to see these given the space they deserve. Ornamental is more of a problem now due to their large size and new legislation on keeping no-natives outside.

Very excited to fill this with a few fish but what species should I go for? I think a couple ornamentals but some natives to. I’ll be doing a pond build vid on this soon!

If you are a member of group that might be interested in seeing Britains Hidden Fishes do get in touch to arrange! We have screenings this year in Devon & Cornwall. Jeremy Wade narrates this fish documentary that took 2 years to film celebrating the amazing fish in Britain.

@Littleashgarden I'm not convinced by the galanthophile thing... but this is rather lovely!

Spined loach are a bit like freshwater sandeels in that they will dart into the riverbed and just stick there heads out of the muck!

I was sold this as Hedychium griffithianum, in dry tuber form, back in April, which might explain why it's struggling into flower now. I'm not sure it is griffithianum, though, as it doesn't have the distinctive extended stamens... #Hedychium #zingiberaceae #gardens #Cornwall

I’m not a neat baker but I do enjoy it and as long as it tastes good I am happy. Today’s creation - coffee & walnut.

@MrsOnlyMe1 @GardeningSaul If you're in Cornwall, then i'd just plant it in the ground, mulch it, and wait until next year. They're hardy things, but when sold as 'dry' tubers then they can take a while to get going.

@JackPerksPhoto Yes Jack. If I ever cut the privet at work in particular, then I seem to end with a stick insect or two on me at some point. Not sure on the species, but one or two have been red/brown, rather than green. Any luck catching the elusive Clingfish/Cornish Sucker by the way?

Do any of my Cornish followers have stick insects in there gardens? I remember one falling on my head when I was in falmouth a few years ago! We have three species established in the UK all from New Zealand originally and found in many cornish gardens.

@Devsubtropgdn I find the densiflorums I have flower for a very long time, often several months, and have attractive seeds/berries afterwards. I quite like the seed heads on the more showy varieties as well - 'Tara' is still interesting now, weeks after flowering.

One criticism people have of #hedychium is that some (eg ‘Tara’ 5-6 days per inflorescence*) can be fleeting in flower. However many last much longer. These H. ‘Pink Hybrid’ & H. ‘Daniel Weeks’ are still going strong after 2 weeks. *A big clump can spread over a couple of months

@Devsubtropgdn Just saw your segment. Well done, it's amazing how much your garden has evolved since i saw it a couple of years back & you came across brilliantly. Just a shame you didn't do your 'extreme' propagation techniques for bananas...

Even us international TV stars (did I mention that we are on Gardeners’ World tonight*) have work to do. The musa sikkimensis that have been in the sleeper bed for 20+ years are now moving to make a plantation on the bank and being replaced by   *only about 50 times
