I rarely do this but with Cell in particular I’m sorry, TFS Cell is the best iteration of the character straight up. He has so much more personality and charm

This part I don’t particularly agree with. Yes cities can still be given a fantastical aura through filming it a certain way, and in that regard I do think Gunn, Braham, and Mickle succeeded in this endeavor. Metropolis does feel like a bright energetic world with civilians dressed in colorful attires that fits that exact same aesthetic. It’s a modern city injected with pulpy silver age energy.
I just wish that was reflected in the actual architecture.

It would also make the backlash against Clark feel more effective because this isn’t just a bad video leak; Superman lied! And most importantly Clark Kent lied to Lois. Sure, he revealed he was Superman, he just left out the alien bit.

I do think The Batman has some flaws in how they handle it: having Bruce immediately find out the truth from Alfred and immediately kinda rehabilitate Thomas, but I do love the ambiguity and lack of closure. Bruce will never quite sure what kind of man Thomas was.
