If we really want to talk about developing athletes, we have to dig deeper into the qualities that make them elite. That’s often a difficult conversation, because some of these things aren’t as easily measurable as a vertical jump, a bench press, a squat, or a broad jump.

Everyone talks about force. Sprinting looks violent and ballistic. But the fastest athletes aren’t straining. They’re rhythmic and relaxed. What to look for - grimacing in their face…tight, raised shoulders…loose hands vs clenched fists... rigid, locked body vs. smooth and

"Should we be doing static or dynamic stretching before practice?" Neither one reduces injuries the way you think they do. Here's what really matters.. Understanding Injury Causes Injuries in occur for two main reasons: 1. The volume demand exceeds the capacity of the tissue 2. An extreme force is applied to a single joint or body part Reducing Soft Tissue Injuries Here's how we can reduce injury risk in training: 1. Gradually build capacity through proper conditioning that prepares the body to handle the workload and demands of the sport. 2. Replicate high-intensity sporting actions in training like sprinting, agility work, and change of direction drills. Stretching doesn’t directly address either of the primary injury mechanisms. It doesn’t significantly contribute to building capacity or replicating high-intensity demands. It may provide a sense of relief and can be helpful for chronically tight muscles with consistent, long-term practice. But a brief pre-practice stretch alone won’t significantly lower injury risks, especially without proper offseason conditioning and sport-specific preparation. The Key Takeaway The type of stretching you choose before practice isn’t the critical factor. What will actually keep your athletes healthy is a smart and properly progressed conditioning program during the off-season and maintaining it with proper practice dosage and planning.

This ones kinda ridiculous... Drop a video idea in Google Sheets.... and do nothing. In seconds, a full YouTube video gets made, uploaded, and logged without you touching a thing. Follow + RT + reply “Post” and I’ll DM you the full setup for FREE

Defining Plyometric Intensity You can't program safely & effectively unless you understand the intensity of training exercises Plyometric intensity = stress exercise puts on muscle, connective tissue & joints Thread & videos below on determining factors of plyo intensity 👇

Eventually, your talent ladder will run out of steps. High-performing sport reveals those who skip reps or think that they know better. You cannot perform at that intensity and remain available without work. They become the people who talk about how they “almost” made it.

SPEED ASSESSMENT The 30m sprint is our gold standard when assessing our athletes sprint abilities. The key metrics we look at are: - Force - Power - Velocity - DRF - Slope Here’s a quick thread discussing each metric & what they mean about the athlete (continue ⬇️)

What speeds up, must slow down, But how quickly can you brake after sprinting? 5-20m acceleration and deceleration distances ⬇️

Opinions please Seen a few things about this age old thing recently, but never heard seem broad discussion, just one person sharing opinion Why do we see this leg position frequently during jump shooting in Basketball? I wonder if my perspective is a bit different 🤔
