The next Bitcoin is something with privacy that scales.
The first requirement is privacy: being able to send transactions without revealing who you are, how much you're sending, and to whom you're sending.
But the more tricky one is scaling: an umbrella term that describes speed and efficiency. Confirmation times shouldn't exceed a few seconds, in order to really unlock the potential of digital cash. On the other hand, this speed shouldn't come at the expense of decentralization: so these private transactions should be small in size and preferably prunable by most nodes.
Today, there are dozens of projects working on privacy and even more of them working on scalability. But the holy grail is getting the best of both worlds in a way that can compete with today's Fintech services without involving trusted third parties.
This used to be the goal of Bitcoin until the "Store of Value" function, Saylorism & ETFs took over. Bitcoin probably won't have the incentive to do it unless the price drops to $1k for a few months and everyone goes back to the drawing board. But which project is gonna do it first?
Anyone betting on Bitcoin as digital gold should also deeply understand Litecoin, digital silver.
Most people have only a superficial understanding.
They haven’t studied why it’s the chosen payments network, why usage has risen, what Scrypt mining entails, etc.
Learn Litecoin.
i’m genuinely sad we don’t see people hyping privacy apps & protocols like we used to
this tech protects freedom. it’s not “niche”, it’s the foundation
where are the builders? the rebels? the privacy maxis?

@StevenMcClurg recently joined @taliakaplan on @CNBC to discuss the outlook for altcoin ETFs and latest regulatory advancements for digital assets in the U.S.

@vladcostea@bytemaster7 I'm not totally convinced he's evil and greedy. I believed in his core philosophies. I simply can't accept that someone could have intentionally planned the exits he made for himself. If I were to accept that he's actually such a scoundrel, he's worthy of a beating.
What’s a good way to contact @bytemaster7?
It would be fun to have him on my podcast, talk about the early days of Bitcoin and why he created Bitshares/Steemit/EOS
@btcapsule But wouldn't it be great if we could devise an app that would make it impossible to sweep unless you hold the actual wallet? It would have to be uncounterfeitable. We can "Uberize" money distribution.
I used to make "paper Bitcoin" wallets for fun
They are highly scalable and private, because you pass the private key without using the blockchain
The problem is, the issuer can prove there are coins in the wallet, and then rug you before you get home
Don’t use paper Bitcoin
Regarding "Bitcoin Cycle Models", we have one clear differentiator:
Mining no longer matters.
Given that all previous cycles were driven in large part by the cut in mining rewards, i think it is logically incorrect to assume this 4 year cycle will persist.
Sure, the reduction of 450 BTC / day to 225 BTC will have a *minute* impact. But insignificant when ETFs and Treasury Companies are buying 5,000 BTC / day.
I also think running stats on 3 data points is not actionable. We don't know when the top will happen, and it's somewhat useless to try and predict it.
What we do know, is that the Kelly Criterion works and will keep you out of trouble.
It will capture most of the massive power law return. So chill at 70%.
Rebalance.
Enjoy Life.
@Ys0Complicated@eddyluxe_@dotkrueger The selling we've seen is nothing compared to what's coming. Go study the silver and gold market. Especially silver.
@DMinimilian I am convinced that there are significantly large players that short Litecoin. Why? I don't know but I have a few conspiracy theories. Do they want everyone using Sha-256 coins? I have no idea but I'd love to know why and who.
Within 20 years, we’ll most likely have quantum computers powerful enough to break Monero’s confidentiality + ring signatures decoy.
Which means that Monero will become as transparent as Bitcoin, because the privacy is perishable.
The 2040s will be wild 🙈
@QuantumAlteredX This kid needs to be put in his place. Likely brainwashed by his mother and grandma. Men make there own decisions and would never tolerate this disrespect especially in public. btw... I don't drink alcohol or smoke anything.
