We can announce that Gerhard Struber has been relieved of his duties as Bristol City Head Coach. Roy Hodgson will take charge of the Men’s First Team until the end of the season, while the club will task the incoming Sporting Director with appointing a permanent Head Coach for the 2026/27 campaign. The club’s recent performances have not met expectations and therefore Struber and Assistant Head Coach Bernd Eibler will leave with immediate effect.

IMO Struber leaving isn’t bad news. Fans liked him because he talked about sexy football and liked a pint. Very rarely saw sexy football, and if the next appointment is right, and the new SD align, it could be the club moving in the right direction.

Pretty stunned at events at #BristolCity, but history shows once you openly question hierarchy your time is limited.
Other factors at play too but Struber was hugely popular with fanbase & in already divisive season, this threatens to widen chasm between stands/board further

@SteveMowat4 I’m not sure. I see it as very much “beware what you wish for”. Lansdown might not be perfect but he’s taken an average sized club and kept them on the cusp of the Prem for years and years.
I agree that we have put up with far worse for too long though.
