Russell here. I made it to Ann Arbor but I didn't get to the hospital in time to see Robert because of ICU visiting restrictions. According to my wife everything is the same but he is waking up a little bit more but the most he has stayed awake so far has been about 15 to 20 minutes. I told Brenda who just left there to meet me at Applebee's because I haven't eaten and I will get her a vodka and she said she'll be there in 2 minutes and I said Brenda you said you're just now leaving the hospital that's at least a 30-minute drive and she said, “for some people.” Haha. I don't know if she's in a hurry to see me because she missed me or for the vodka. I have great news about the book. First, I said something earlier that I found out was incorrect. I was given information that was not clear. And now it is. If you buy multiple copies each copy goes towards the best seller rank. Earlier I had read that if you buy five copies that's only counts as one if it's from the same person. That is not true. Please see the screenshots that I was able to obtain from Robert's account with KDP publishing. I have access to that because we co-authored three previous books together. This is an outstanding achievement when you consider this is his first venture into the biographical genre. He is competing with the vice president of the United States! Oh my God wait till he realizes this! Congratulations to everyone who has made this an outstanding achievement and are you ready for one more piece of good news? The book has out sold the debut of the initial sales for every previous book he has written. And five of them have hit number one. WAY TO GO EVERYBODY! Keep it up! 😊

Brenda here. Good morning. I'm going to let it all out. LOL. I broke down this morning and I don't think I have ever cried this hard in my life. My emotions are everywhere and I want to explain why. No pity is welcome here and no feeling sorry for me. It is a combination of sadness and joy. And fear. You know the kind of day I had yesterday but at midnight last night when that book went on sale I had a jolt of adrenaline and then I was awake until three. It is now past ten in the morning and I'm heading to the hospital. Russell and I responded to over 200 private messages yesterday and we appreciate it so much that you've told us we don't have to. We have been trying to follow Robert’s lead because he has always said that if somebody can write to you then you can certainly write them back. Well we're not him anymore. 😂 My heart is breaking because the one person I want to talk to more than anybody is him. And he is not waking up the way that he should. He is not a repeat in a coma. I am going to enclose a screenshot of something that I asked Google because although the doctors explained it I didn't know how to word it. I think it is called delayed emergence (please no medical opinions or advice, thanks). But this is what happens to somebody who has had multiple surgeries following a history of being in a coma. And the surgery on Monday was 8 hours. The main reason I cried is because of all of you. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for what you have done to promote Robert's book which is in his own words one of the single most important things he has ever written in addition to his first book. And we all know Robert has written all his life. When you read it you will agree. But what Russell and I did not expect was how you all have taken the book and used your own words in how to tell your own followers about it. You have been very creative. I just wish Robert knew. That is what is so hard. So my tears are primarily of joy with thanks. I will never ever be able to express to you appropriately my debt of gratitude. And some tears are because he is missing this great day. Thank you. ❤️

Brenda here. It is almost 11:30 p.m. and I don't know who will see this and maybe others will see it in the morning. I left the hospital a while ago and then I went to a diner and sat there for a couple of hours to think. I apologize as there have been so many posts made today on this account and some of them removed. Now for full complete disclosure. We will not hold anything from you, we will always be transparent yet sometimes we intentionally delay some information because we want decisions to be made by DR Jared. My husband is under unbearable amount of stress because of everything that we know. This is why he is coming to Michigan Wednesday rather than waiting till Friday and this is why he spoke to his client today asking if he could wait till August to perform the rehab on her home. Robert is NOT in a coma but he is also not responding the way he should be. He is not critical and he is not near death but our hearts are breaking. We do not see it possible that he will be home in time for his birthday this Saturday. I apologize that we have not told you all of this but we have been hoping for a complete turnaround so we can get him home and we can celebrate whatever happens with his book and resume joyful living. My husband has had multiple outbursts today with some of you and that is not to be justified or rationalized. It just is. I returned to Robert's house moments ago. I don't know what else to say. We are grateful for the prayers and the love and the assistance yet I did remove the post earlier seeking assistance. Let's simply do what we do best and offer love and leave it at that. Needs are always met one way or another and we will address them as they come. I myself am staying up to midnight and buying 10 copies of the book for my coworkers. And then I'm going to crash. Russell here. You guys are going to love this. First of all things are still the same with Robert. If anything changes Brenda or I will let you know. I have a work order and a contract with a client of mine to begin rehabbing parts of her home on July 27th. I was supposed to leave this Friday to go to Michigan but with the circumstances as they are I leaving tomorrow. I'm not sure when I'm going to return to Vermont. I went to my client because she only lives about 10 miles away and I asked her if she would mind if I could delay the project by one week and wait until August the 3rd and I told her the circumstances but not all of it and I told her I would even do it at no charge. She is in her early seventies and she looked at me and very firmly said, "absolutely not. I will not hear of it. You will show up on August the 3rd and you will begin the work and whenever you finish it I will pay you. A contract is a contract but life is life. You do what you need to do and you tell that young man to feel better."   Isn't that wonderful? There's so much pessimism in the world and a sense of defeat and I could not keep the story to myself. I hope this will brighten your day. She did tell me I owed her a kiss on her cheek so I did bend over and give her a little kiss on her cheek. I don't know where she got the idea that my best friend is a young man. Haha

Brenda here. Update. Robert continues to sleep. When he does wake up he is aware of who I am and that I am here whereas yesterday he did not have a clue. I met with a senior advocate today and I am amazed at the information I have been given about how to prepare Robert for when he comes home because when he had his initial surgery in Boston and came home it was a different story and we were not given these precautions when he stayed with us. I have discussed this with Russell on the telephone earlier. Robert has a carpeted bedroom and living room which is fine but he also has two area rugs and they have to be temporarily removed for at least the following months because this could easily cause a trip. He also has a chair in his living room that is a swivel chair. It has to go. He has to have a chair that is steady and although the chair is in good condition it would be a hazard so we are going to put it in storage somewhere and I'm speaking to the apartment manager to see if they can find a place because his apartment does not have that. Russell and I are buying him a new chair for his birthday. We need help not with that because that is going to be a gift from us but there are other needs that we have been informed of such as we need to get a raised toilet seat and also a shower chair. I have been given a wealth of information that we just previously were not told. If anything at least this gives us a sense of security that finally something is being done right for when he is eventually alone. Food preparation will continue from his church youth group for the next few weeks but then once I go back to school that may become less frequent. I will be talking to the pastor who says to always let him know if we need anything and hopefully some other church members could do what the students might not be able to. However if we get enough funds we will try to have stored meal prep in the freezer of his refrigerator. For now Conservatively we need to raise $150. If what we need exceeds that we will pick up the remainder of the cost. This is where we are at presently. I believe the GoFundMe is at 9721 if we can get it to 9870 then we can stop at least for now. I am doing everything I can to try to work with whoever could offer help in terms of agencies or anything like that but these referral processes are maddening and time is not on our side because of wait times. The earliest Robert would come home would be Thursday but that is doubtful because he is not reacting well to the anesthesia. We pray more than anything that he will be home Saturday for his birthday. Russell will arrive here tomorrow night. And thank you last night for telling me I did not need to respond to every message. We try to do that because Robert taught us a long time ago if somebody can take the time to make a comment then you're sorry ass can respond to them. Those were his words to Russell never to me. Russell here. There have been a lot of new followers lately. First I want everyone to know that Robert is on a steady string of pain medication and also he was given a transfusion yesterday. He is still in ICU but he is becoming more comfortable and I actually feel like an ass saying that. Later today I am going to post something he wrote that started everything with his new book. It will be the post he originally made and it's worth reading it again and I will put that up. I am so proud of something Robert has done when I think many people would not have done this. As a psychologist he had a stellar career and made great income. Some of you who are new here don't realize how he lost his insurance. He was comatose for a little over three months and while on life support he did not make his insurance premium and the computer marked him as non-compliant and the insurance dropped him. This is insanity at its best because they could have reinstated him but they elected not to and their belief was he was almost dead anyhow. Robert has told the story a hundred times and when he teaches of what happened to him it is to enlighten everyone that this could happen to you. It can happen to somebody who thinks they are secure financially. Look at this bill. He has demonstrated this bill to many people to prove a point about the “medical community's immorality.” People are always surprised when he shows them this. He allows them to sit and discuss it in their level of surprise and then he says look again. And the people look at the bill and he said every time he has done this only one person noticed something and nobody else noticed it until he pointed it out. The number is so overwhelming that it prevents people from noticing this is the minimum payment due! $39,000 is one payment and was due immediately. His bill and I have seen it was over $1 million dollars. This was a total that includes what they call chargemaster rates that I never heard of until Robert explained it all. This will explain to you why he has had financial hardship. He has raised an immense amount of awareness of how this can happen and this is what we must remember when we vote. Who is speaking in their campaign platforms about healthcare? We have to pay attention. And don't forget the beautiful post that he made for the first time he spoke about Joan. And then at midnight is the big moment. By the way Brenda arrived moments ago back at the hospital. We should know more later.
