Thinking about Nixon having to resign over something as harmless as Watergate while a literal pedo is still in office makes me kinda mad, genuinely mad.

You're a medieval peasant. You keep chickens. They're cheap to care for so you have a few. They lay eggs, which you eat. When the roosters get big enough, you eat them. Keep one rooster for obvious purposes. When a hen gets too old to lay, or otherwise has issues, you eat it. You don't eat chicken every day but you probably cooked up a chicken several times a year. It was far from an unthinkable treat. Similarly as a medieval peasant you probably ate one pig a year. You'd trade for a piglet from the swineherd. Then you put it in a sty and raise it. Within a year it's 300-400 lbs and you slaughter and preserve it. Rinse and repeat. Medieval peasants had quite a varied diet. They could fish, use birdlime to catch songbirds, pick apples off their tree (which were buried or turned into cider to preserve), grew several types of vegetables. They didn't have a LOT to eat, but what they did eat wasn't monotonous. Except of course for frumenty. Frumenty every single damn day. If you could afford to go to the miller and have him grind and bake your barley into bread that was a treat.

A lot of people are mad about this but it’s true. A chicken was a luxury for a medieval peasant. Probably about the same as real wagyu steak today.

I hate the Nazi regime as much as anyone. It was bad for the USA to kick the Cherokee, the Iroquois, and the Sioux out of their land. So why isn't it an even bigger crime to kick the German inhabitants of Konigsberg out of their own homes without recompense - houses their ancestors had made and lived in for centuries - and hand them over to Russians who had never lived there and did nothing to deserve it.

This day in 1945, Soviet forces launched the assault on Königsberg, a heavily fortified German stronghold. The battle ended when the German garrison surrendered 3 days later. Königsberg became a Russian city and was renamed to Kaliningrad in 1946. #WW2

I went to Texas Roadhouse and ordered a steak medium rare. The nice waitress took her time to carefully explain what a "medium rare" steak looked like. I already knew, of course - I've been eating steak for 65 years - but I was polite and listened. She made sure I knew that a medium rare steak was red in the middle, not pink. I guess she gets customers who don't have a clue. Anyway the steak came out and it was absolutely well-done. Not a trace of red or even pink. I cut it in half and showed it to the waitress, and she was appalled. I didn't have her take it back - my wife already had her meal and we had places to go after dinner so why delay. So I ate my damn well-done steak, and I even tipped the waitress (I assume it was not her fault). But I haven't returned to Texas Roadhouse since.

He sent his steak back FIVE times, each time they brought him a new steak. Don't be like this person!

Polacy, dumny naród husarii krwawi, gdy musi oddać butelkę do maszyny żeby dostać pieniążek. A Niemcy którzy mają o wiele bardziej hardkorowy system kaucyjny i segregacji śmieci (m. in. myją opakowania po nabiale) naraz nie są "menelami". No popatrz🙃

Paratroopers from the 2nd, 3rd and 5th Vietnamese Parachute battalions sang the Marseillaise during their assault on Eliane 1 during the Battle of Dien Bien Phu. The scene was immortalized in the 1992 film. It was the only song that they all knew collectively.
