@heatherbest_ Q4: I'm trying a stamina tracker to help students set stamina goals. 3rd grade is a big year where Ss need more reading stamina for many reasons. Smashed it with a google form for easy tracking. Kids are excited but not fully understanding the concept yet. #strategysmashing

A 5. I have always used reading strategies when teaching all subjects, especially math, but am opening up to the ideas of using more digital tools as a way to enhance and strengthen student's learning and comprehension. #strategysmashing

@LoisDagostino @heatherbest_ I tell my students they need to think of a word problem as simply a story. We talk about what is happening when they are reading it. What do they see?

@heatherbest_ #strategysmashing the 2nd question.. Having the students close to you and that could be in a small group or on the carpet as a whole group. Also, letting students show the class what they know or a way that they worked out the problem ....ownership

A2: I found success in taking time to conference with my students about what they were reading and helping them set and monitor goals. #strategysmashing

A4. When teaching math I have my students highlight key words in their word problems. This strategy helps them when deciding what operation they need to use to solve the problem. This is a great strategy for both reading and math. #strategysmashing

A3. I have not used many digital tools for math however I have found that my students love to do Seesaw. The students have said that making their own videos is very engaging and fun! #strategysmashing

A2. I found that having the students complete a learner profile is beneficial. I can see what they're interested in and use that for guidance and engagement #strategysmashing
