Michigan conservatives are in for a rude awakening if they don’t get out and vote. Abdul El-Sayed is emerging as a leading contender for the Democrat nomination for U.S. Senate, running on one of the most progressive agendas Michigan has seen in years. Medicare for All. Abolishing ICE. Higher taxes. A Bernie Sanders-style vision for America. Too many people assume Michigan will somehow move back toward common sense on its own. It won’t. That’s roughly a 55% increase in government spending in just five years while Michigan’s population grew by only about 1%.
