Neo-Pagans will say, that they hate Christianity because it`s "jewish" and "foreign", but when Jews and foreigners attack Christians they will always, 100% without fail, side with the Jews and foreigners. Hm... Interdasting....

The most important thing the Japanese did wasnt killing missionaries, it was making thoroughly sure that those executed would not be worshiped as martyrs. They burned the bodies and threw the ashes into the sea
CatGirl Kulak 😻😿 (Anarchonomicon)@FromKulak

If you like Japanese culture you have to Acknowledge the reason it exists is because great Daimyo ruthlessly defended it. The vikings duelled, wrote death poems, had magical girls (valkyrie), and the rest… but they didn’t have warning like the prots gave about jesuits

@NaomhDubh @GraniRau Tell me, who defended Europe with their blood from the muslim onslaught for hundreds of years. Was it Christians or pagans?

@LionelMadrugada @AlgisFarang @FromKulak "Slave morality" is an anachronistic term. The pagans themselves thought themselves as inferior slaves to their gods, which were bound to the indecipherable whims of the divine. And why should a religion, mainly based upon hollow rituals, be seen as superior to genuine faith?

@BoogiepopWrites @AlgisFarang @FromKulak Christianity introduced an entirely novel way of thinking to Europe: slave morality, and it has serious negative repercussions to this day. Not to mention all the customs, languages, and laws that changed. For one, spirituality became faith based rather than ritual based.

@NaomhDubh @GraniRau If he was a Christian, he would defend his country against muslims, considering that Christians were the only ones in history to ever put up a successful fight against the mohammedans.

@NaomhDubh @GraniRau Did it though? Japan had more catholic prime ministers than the USA, while the Tokugawa Shogunate doesn´t exist anymore and it also died as a hated, despised and illegitimate entity.

@LionelMadrugada @AlgisFarang @FromKulak Their language, their customs, their laws, their modes of thinking and so on and on.... As I said, the cultural differences between different nations and regions stayed the same, even after all those nations have been christianized. Why do you think this was the case?

@BoogiepopWrites @AlgisFarang @FromKulak What was even left of Roman culture after their festivals were banned, their traditional idols torn down, their temples dismantled, and their sacred groves cut? All so that a foreign imported god and religion could take its place and rule every aspect of their lives.

@AlgisFarang @FromKulak Evidence for this is how the ancient old cultural differences between northern europe and southern mediterrenean europe stayed the same, even after christianization.

@AlgisFarang @FromKulak I disagree with the term destruction. Christian Europe was as authentic germanic as pagan Europe. Christianity baptizes and elevates a culture, but does not destroy it. When Christianity become the state religion of Rome, roman culture was not destroyed but simply baptized.

@NaomhDubh @GraniRau I´m not saying that this was good for catholicism. Just that OP was wrong for insinuating that the shogunate was successful in entirely discrediting the missionaries.

@BoogiepopWrites @akarlin The Black gate was inches from Minas Tirith for ages and there wasn't a single sortie out to attack them? Literally like... Ever? Did the rohirim ever fight anything other than like 3 wolf riding goblins?

This is a Tolkien weakness because OP dragons and the world remaining human-centric violate suspension of disbelief. Realistically Tolkien's dragons should have been the main characters of Middle-Earth. As apex physical, intellectual, AND magical beings, only the most powerful Maiar should have been able to match them. Crass as it sounds, The Elder Scrolls is far more realistic, in that the dragons trivially dominated humans through their human underlings (the dragon-priests), and it took a dragon civil war (= elite defections) for humans to break free. GoT is also perfectly realistic, it is more or less exactly how a world in which one faction in a medieval world gains the biological equivalent of bomber aircraft would look like.

@BigDickRaper @akarlin No ambition? Morgoth and Sauron literally wanted to conquer and reshape the entire world. It´s the more beastlike creatures which lack ambition though and which are only driven by hunger and base needs. Creatures like Ungolianth or the dragons for example.

@akarlin For some reason Tolkien apparently thought that evil was both highly industrial but also had no ambition or initiative whatsoever. Just bizarre cosmology.

Are Americans, who degrade the international rules based order, aware that this is their own order? It´s like a rigged playing field; rigged in favor of the US that is. What does a wise nation prefer? A rules based game, in which you control the rules? Or utter Chaos?

The USP of generative AI is, that it supposedly allows talentless lazy people to create art. But the problem is, that AI doesn´t change the fact, that these people are talentless and lazy. And that´s the core issue with these people.
