When Merilyn Simonds was in Burlington for an author event organized by A Different Drummer Books, I had a chance to meet her. She graciously signed our copy of her Bookmarked novel The Convict Lover and my copy of her new book Walking with Beth (a great read!).

Thanks to the hard work and persistence of the Nova Scotia Reading Circle, a Bookmark honouring the late Budge Wilson was installed at Dalhousie University. From selecting the passage from the short story “The Leaving” to the unveiling ceremony, they worked as a dynamic team.

City of Miramichi unveiled two plaques in Newcastle honouring David Adams Richards. The plaques are part of Project Bookmark Canada. David has been sharing stories based in Miramichi for decades and the plaques are an excerpt from ‘The Friends of Meager Fortune’. #Miramichi
