I need to make a clarification and apology. Brian Simmons told me he does not own or control a yacht (if he did in the past I don’t know, if he has an “almost yacht” I don’t know). The reason I will apologize is because I reposted this. Now, my purpose was to highlight the parsonage, and I still want to, but I want to say sorry for sharing the part of this post that included claims about a yacht which might not be true. Sorry.

@masonmennenga Leviticus 20:13 prescribes punishment for both men involved in a homosexual act. So yes it's a sin for two consenting adults to engage in same sex activities. Jesus condemned sexual immorality which his audience would understand to be including homosexuality.

even if you believe being gay is a sin (it’s not), jesus was friends with sinners and even protected them from being killed but i don’t see conservative christians doing any of that with LGBTQ people

Scripture does not promote singleness or childlessness for the purpose of enabling selfish, materialistic lifestyle choices. Raising kids is sanctifying. Being dedicated to ministry is also. Remaining single or childless on purpose to go on fancy vacations is not sanctifying.

Scripture presents marriage and kids as the norm for the believer. The only reason it promotes singleness as a good thing is so the believer can have undivided commitment to God. If a believer has no desire for marriage and kids, then their attention should go to the church.
