James H. “Dog” Kelley came to Fort Dodge in 1872 as General George Custer’s orderly. His duties included caring for Custer’s horses and his prize pack of greyhounds. Kelley served as Mayor of Dodge City from 1877 to 1881.

We want to remind you that our Off-Season Hours will go into effect beginning tomorrow we will be open from 9am- 6pm but we have just one more Gunfight under our belt at High Noon!!!! Come by and see us tomorrow!

Boot Hill Museum is home to over 28,000 artifacts from the Wild West!! Open DAILY 8am- 8pm UNTIL September 6th. AFTER September 6th: Monday- Saturday 9am-6pm & Sunday 1-6pm.
