Most people who have a severe penicillin allergy will outgrow it after 10 years. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your penicillin allergy. #USAAW23 #BeAntibioticsAware #AntimicrobialResistance #WAAW

Ooof. As a PD for ID fellowship, that Fig 1 represents the 🐘 in the room w/recruitment. How can we ask trainees to do an additional 2-3yrs at trainee salary and come out making 50K-100K+ less than others? Wellness can’t exist without fair compensation. #IDTwitter

“Women in Puerto Rico were instrumental in its creation” = Poor women in Puerto Rico were targeted and experimented on without proper consent. The thread may not fully reflect the controversy and impact of the trials on medical, science, and PR history. More info below 👇
NPR Oye@NPRoye

It's been over 60 years since the FDA first approved the birth control pill. But did you know that women in Puerto Rico were instrumental in its creation? The first large-scale human trials of the pill were conducted on over 1,500 Puerto Rican women, and it came at a cost. 🧵

A call to action for #MedTwitter: it's time to get rid of the term "Red Man Syndrome". It's NOT a mechanistically descriptive reaction of a non-anaphylactic vancomycin sensitivity. It's strangely gendered + vaguely racist. Let's move on. Thx @STangGirdwood for the reminder

As an ID specialist, I want you to both play close attention and completely disregard the patients white count. Why do people have trouble understanding that?
