I know we all think "AI is cool and all, but it can't do what I do". If you're a working behind a computer and not using AI, you're like the stubborn guy with his typewriter when PCs became a thing. But this time around you have months, not years/ decades to get on board.

@gpdawson If it does logical reasoning (which it often does) by applying reasoning patterns, how is that different from humans... in fact, I know plenty humans who haven't mastered this yet... We may agree on the ai intelligence, but I think humans use similar patterns 😉

With the foreseeable progress in AI, I can't think of many tasks/jobs that won't eventually (10 to 20 years timespan) be done better by ai + robots... even without AGI. What am I missing?

@Boring_Crypto So to me that is the really hard part which may not advance fast at all i.e. getting genuine reasoning/understanding into the process. Until then I think it’s genuine usefulness remains quite limited.

@gpdawson This comes down to: do you need AGI to replace most parts of most jobs... I don't think you do. I think we're overestimating how good humans really are. We thought creativity was reserved for humans only. But often the AI is a lot more creative than I am.
