I'm sharing this message, I have attached the link at the bottom. 🇮🇪 People have had ENOUGH! A MESSAGE TODAY FROM A STRUGGLING NURSE, A message from an exhausted nurse in response to the protests. I am a 26-year-old nurse who bought a house just before Christmas. Myself and my partner worked super hard for this after renting for 4 years. I work full time with the HSE in a NICU and extra as agency. I work on average 60 hours a week for the last 3 years, I havent taken a week off in that time (on my due annual leave I book 4 agency shifts). We bought in the country as housing is much more affordable, as a result my commute to work is 100km one way. I have €200 in my bank account to do me until the end of the month, with the way things are going my predicted fuel costs just to get me to and from work is €400. I’m contemplating sleeping in my car between shifts just to save some money. I don’t know what to do, me and my partner are very frugal, we only buy our meat from the 75% off section in aldi and freeze it, we don’t eat out, we’ve cut our food portions smaller, we allow ourselves 1 social outing a month to meet friends and thats only ever for lunch or a coffee but we are thinking of putting that on pause too. We’ve agreed that when we run out of oil we won’t be refilling it. I understand we are one of the more privileged in the country at the minute and are grateful for all we have. However, what should be one of the happiest and most exciting times in our lives has turned into one of the most stressful with the pressure of making sure we are putting enough money aside each month to cover our mortgage. I look online and see my fellow nurses living it up in Australia wondering if we made the right decision to stay and work in Ireland… To those out on the protest lines, just know there is so much more of us behind you than you realise. I am so proud to see so many of us come together and say enough is enough, I’m just hoping the people remember this when voting season comes back around… Also to note: nobody I work with in either hospitals has been affected coming to or from work, in fact one of my agency colleagues got lost going to a new hospital and the protesters not only let her through the barricade but one of the lads drove ahead of her to make sure she got to where she was going. facebook.com/share/p/1act6d…

FF junior minister Niall Collins says the fuel protests have gone too far. Niall receives a taxpayer-funded tax-free payment of around €400 a week to cover his dodgy mileage claims. There are protesters who have to work a full week to earn what Niall gets just for his diesel.

This is my dear Mother. She was a little Irish lady who married a North London man and started her family in Highbury. She died 24 years ago and I miss her every day. She taught me everything I know and made me an Arsenal fan. She was and will always be the best ❤️🤍 #MothersDay

Arsenal deserved exactly what they got there. From 15/20 minutes onwards that was a dreadful performance. Half pace, second gear. Just gave Wolves hope. Familiar story. You play like that, you leave yourselves open to something like that happening at the end. So, so costly.

Poland just became a $1 trillion economy. Three decades ago, it was a broke, post-communist state. The turnaround is remarkable.

Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm the appointment of Sean Dyche as the Club’s new Head Coach, following a thorough recruitment process led by Global Head of Football, Edu Gaspar, and Global Technical Director, George Syrianos. The former Forest youth player joins the Club on a contract running until the summer of 2027 and will take charge of his first match on Thursday night as The Reds take on FC Porto in the Europa League. Dyche will be joined by his experienced coaching team of Ian Woan and Steve Stone — both former Nottingham Forest players who together made more than 400 appearances for the Reds during the 1990s. A respected and experienced Premier League manager, Dyche brings the perfect blend of character, tactical acumen and proven achievement to guide the Club through its next chapter. Having managed more than 330 Premier League matches in his career to date, Dyche has built teams defined by defensive organisation, resilience, and strength from set pieces —qualities that align closely with the current squad’s attributes and the Club’s footballing identity. As a former Forest youth player who lives locally, Dyche also has a deep understanding of the values and pride of Forest and its supporters. With his character, tactical acumen and man-management skills, his appointment represents the best opportunity for a successful and competitive season across both domestic and European competitions.

Should be winning that. Dominated them. Need to find that killer instinct but not concerned as feel we often play within ourselves. Plenty of bigger games to come.

I appeal to people to remain calm until we have all the facts from Citywest. If what we have heard is true then this Country should be brought to a standstill and this government brought down. We must protect our children.

Spoiling Your Vote is a legitimate democratic act when the system itself becomes farcical. In 2017, four million French voters deliberately spoiled their ballots rather than back either Macron or Le Pen....almost 10%. Given the blocked nominations, whipped councillors and TDs, and now Jim Gavin’s withdrawal, spoiling your vote in this Irish Presidential election is a clear way to say the process itself is broken. The Govt parties have curated this mess. They made their bed, time to lie in it.
