@rohanpaul_ai As a seasoned producer I'm not afraid of Suno or Udio itself,but the other things...market is already flooded, noise that is currently happening is making money out of music very hard,and this will make it 100 times harder...I think it's end of musicians as they are now

🎹 Suno just raised $250M at $2.5B valuation, and the music industry can freak out, dig in, or adjust its footing. the wave of democratized music creation is happening either way. Suno greatly lower the barrier for people who cannot play or record but still want to express grief, joy or other strong feelings through songs. Users type a short prompt and Suno’s models generate full songs with vocals and instrumentation, then a browser based editor lets them cut, extend or remix sections like a simple online studio. It previously raised a $125 million Series B in May 2024, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Nat Friedman, and Daniel Gross, Matrix, and Founder Collective, at an estimated $500 million valuation. Major labels have sued Suno, claiming it trained on copyrighted catalogs without licenses, while Suno responds that its models create new music rather than copying recordings. In the U.S., these lawsuits sit in a murky legal zone, and most don’t make it to court. They usually end with a settlement—basically, a licensing deal for the training data. (That’s how Universal and Udio resolved theirs last month.) Suno has faced similar pushback from Denmark’s Koda and Germany’s GEMA. Notably, GEMA recently scored a win in Germany against OpenAI in a case questioning the legality of training on copyrighted material gathered online. Despite all that, investors hardly flinch. Suno’s rising popularity and the booming AI music market make those legal battles seem more like background noise. Udio, another AI music startup, already settled and agreed to train a new system only on licensed tracks, which hints at the compromise path labels want.
