I think a reset is happening. I can’t remember the last time I saw this many people dissecting rap lyrics and tryna figure out metaphors etc. And I’m seein some of the music that doesn’t have “substance” get called out and flipped on even tho it’s the same shit that was droppin 6 months ago. Interesting exciting times.

One of my favorite things about “Not Like Us” is when Kendrick starts humming like a Baptist preacher and then has the nerve to sing them next few bars in a full blues cadence. It’s SO Black. And that humming is like a war call. It gets me so hype. I can’t be the only one.
