Maybe it’s me, but the mood in the country in June 2025 with respect to war with Iran feels a lot different than it did in either 2001 for Afghanistan or 2002/2003 for Iraq. Regardless; may God protect our troops.

@tunguz Yeah, using LLM's for sanity checks is part of the process. I also use them for security checks. I'll write about this.

I don't remember the last time I used a debugger. And this is coming from a hard-core, "debugging-is-my-thing" developer! I spent decades convincing and showing people how to use their IDE to debug their code properly. And then I stopped, probably around the time I picked up Python and started writing code in a notepad. "Debugging" became littering my code with as many print statements as possible. And I like it! It might be recency bias, but I think print statements are better. I don't see myself ever going back. If you tell me I'm wrong, I won't disagree—I wouldn't have any concrete arguments. I'm just willing to stick to print statements to debug my code and accept the consequences. Call me stubborn.
