Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu has revealed that she reprimanded President William Ruto for his announcement about the Tanga refinery, saying she was not aware of it beforehand. Speaking during the MoU signing and press conference at State House in Dar es Salaam, Samia pressed Ruto to explain the declaration made at the Africa We Build Summit 2026 in Nairobi, where he, Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, and Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote discussed plans for a joint oil refinery. “Tulipokuwa tunaongea ndani kule. Nilimbana Ruto nikamwambia umekwenda kutangaza refinery Tanga mbona mimi sijui. Sasa atasema yeye mwenyewe kwa nini akatangaza.”

@BotaniqueDng From 18th of this month, we are engaging the people of Vihiga and releasing a Mwanainchi report on status of implementation of the 2022-27 CIDP. Specific development initiatives scored against the plan will be shared with the public for their own consumption.

Imagine a two term Governor who’s in his way out, benchmarking on a one term Governor 😂😂. So how has Vihiga been collecting revenue for the last 9 years? Bwana @Gov_Ottichilo you’ve let us down.

@Gov_Ottichilo The road from Hobuyaya to Buyangu was to be upgraded to bitumen. What happen? Shopping centers of Mwichio and the rest are dying due to very poor infrastructure. No lighting on any markets. I can name and name.
