We don’t do April Fools’ Day jokes regarding toys/comics because of that one time we did - 18 years ago! While we still like the actual story that ran for 8 years, the spin off’s, and other related media inspired by Shattered Glass proper, we do think about what could have been. And who knows. Maybe one day there could be a… ? In the meantime, just a little over 3 months until BotCon: Chicago!

While the opening scene with Unicron set in motion the plot of Transformers: The Movie, the scene right after the credits set the tone! Who all still knows the classic narration word for word? “It is the year 2005…” m.youtube.com/watch?v=POAwrP… Next guest announcement this week!

Springer, you and Arcee transform Autobot City! We’re sure you’ve all heard about the ‘We killed Optimus’ apology tour by now. But for the Autobots that fought to defend Autobot City that day, their valiant efforts require no apologies! With that, for THE summer celebration of the 40th anniversary of Transformers: The Movie, we are thrilled to announce another star from the film that defined a generation! Susan Blu, voice of G1 Arcee! Not only did Sue voice the first regularly featured female Autobot, she went on to have a lasting impact as both the voice director and guest voice on Beast Wars and Transformers Animated respectively. It all started with Transformer: The Movie though, and we can’t wait to host both her and Neil Ross at BotCon: Chicago July 10-12 at the Shaumburg Convention Center. Attendee Custom Class, Package Pick-up, and Early Store shopping starts July 9th. Speaking of the custom class, we still have a limited number of seats available. This is going to be the best custom class yet of the Agabyss Era, and you won’t want to miss out on this figure! For a look at last years custom class offerings, check us our previous tweets Then to get your Premium Plus, Premiun, and/or weekend package and to sign up for your custom class, you can do that all through the various links at BotCon.com REMINDER: Kids 12 & Under are ALWAYS FREE at BotCon AND there are NO HIDDEN FEES with your registration!

The BotCon Custom Class! We can’t wait for you to see this years concept. Going to be one of the best of the last 20 plus years! In the meantime, let’s take a look at last year’s two class figures that Shawn Tessman worked up using these classic concepts. You have the super blink and you’ll miss it cameo of Autobot Toaster from the G1 Marvel comic, and the Deformatted Cyclonus based on the color scheme from Action Master Bombshell. Also shown here alongside the custom class Toaster and Blackcat is the mini Toaster w/ 3 slices of toast PVC accessories and the Blackcat figurine from Transformers Collectors Clib Ninja Force 5 pack. Alongside the reformatted Bombshell is the Action Master Bombshell toy from 1991. Finally, we have the Transformers Universe style profiles. This is where it gets a little fun. So both of these are just custom write ups, however there may be something more to the Bombshell write up. Something that may be appearing on an upcoming toy? Let’s just say right now that the Bombshell write up shown here is more of a what if that happened in the Marvel movie adaptation Sunbow universe. However, for Sunbow proper… You might be seeing something of a similar story in the very near future via an official exclusive. Stay Tuned, and it the meantime, order your BotCon ‘26 attending package, grab your custom class (more than 1/2 sold out!), and be on the lookout for a product with the name Decepticon Avatar! Visit BotCon.com today!

Well, while we still think a Missing Link Unicron will show up via Takara TOMY later this year, our prediction of a Unicron debut of some sort did not pan out for Toy Fair. We have someone from BotCon on site though in New York, so maybe it’s hiding under one of the tables. But looks like we got this wrong. We will begin the APOLOGY TOUR for this wrong prediction in 2066 at BotCon’s 72nd anniversary!

Unicron Debuts at Toy Fair tomorrow??? In less than 24 hours Hasbro will be revealing what is widely believed to be a host of 1986 themed Transformers: The Movie toys in celebration of the 40th anniversary. Many believe this will include a Unicron toy of some type! We think that this is PERFECT timing as today we are thrilled to announce our theme for BotCon ‘26: Chicago’s guests, events, kids classes, souvenir pin set, games, and more… you guessed it, the 40th Anniversary of the greatest animated film ever - Transformers: The Movie. With that let’s announce our first guest. He voiced the TF:TM character who was the embodiment of 1980’s action heroes, with the perfect mix of bravado, sarcasm, and wit: Neil Ross, voice of Autobot Springer! Neil himself was with Transformers starting 1/2 way through Season 1 as the voice of Slag, Bonecrusher, and Hook. His first ‘starring’ role for the franchise was in Transformers: The Movie as Springer and we can’t wait for him to celebrate this movie anniversary with all of us! You do not want to miss BotCon: Chicago at the Schaumburg Convention Center July 9th-12. Visit BotCon.com for more info!
