Seasonal snowpack in Boulder of 44" is less than half of normal. Denver's 33" is about two-thirds of normal.

Statewide snowpack as of May 8th is 25% of normal, down 1% from the start of April. We now sit with slightly more snowpack left than we had in 2012 at this point.

Much of eastern Colorado had a very dry April, though the Colorado Springs area did OK again and thus that area is the only part of state not in drought.

April ended with 0.65" of precipitation, the 9th lowest amount for April since 1897.

April ended with 1.7" of snow, the 13th least snowy April since 1950.

Some highlights (lowlights?) from April 2026: Boulder has landed in the Warm & Dry regime 10 out of the last 12 months feeding into our ongoing long-term extreme drought. There's been ~14.9" of precipitation over the last year, 30% below the average of 21.1" #COwx #Boulderwx
