After finishing our narrative writing unit called ‘Stardust’, year 2 used their learning to complete an independent story and letter. While writing our letter, we looked at what it was like for an astronaut in the cockpit of a rocket.

The children in Reception learnt about the story “We’re going on a bear hunt”. The children made story maps, painted bears and collaged bears. We enjoyed acting the story out in the garden!

Year 1 had a creative afternoon painting their Mondrian inspired masterpieces ! 🎨🖌️👩‍🎨

Sunshine Class had fun making Paddington Bears favourite food, marmalade sandwiches! We had a teddy bears picnic and enjoyed eating them!

Year 2 have been exploring solid structure in design and technology. We experimented with wide and narrow bases to see which structure would be the most stable.

Year 1 have been learning about growth mindset. To challenge ourselvs today we made ‘Springy’ - our friend who helps us to member that challenges and learning help us grow and stretch our minds 👋

The children in Reception learnt about the Kwanzaa festival in their Music lesson. They listened to African music and tapped simple beats on African drums!

Starfish Class have been so excited about words today! We used the word ‘streaming’ to create other words. The only rule being you can only use each letter once in each word you make. Look how many the children found!

In PSHE in Year 1 we used the Power of Cooperation! The children worked together with their partner while listening to each others ideas. They needed to agree how to design a pair of wellies so that they both looked the same.

Fire starters!🔥Year 1 made a fire this afternoon in outdoor learning. We discussed the best way to stack the logs and used materials such as cotton wool and hay and started the fire using a flint!

This week reception have been looking at the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. Sunshine class went outside and explored walking though the wet mud. The children came up with some fantastic words to describe the mud such as gooey, sticky and squelchy.

Year 2 created different space sounds as groups. We then used all of the different sounds, telling a space journey story, and created a soundscape. Here are some of the group sounds the children created.
