My Grade 1 children have completed a research project about a bear of their choice. They shared what they learned with their friends and family. @EcoleSprings @WinnipegSD

Loved hearing my students New Year Resolutions! Some promised to read, write and do homework everyday. Others promised to take care of younger siblings and their belongings. One of my students promises to take a shower every morning! 😂 @EcoleSprings @WinnipegSD

After reading various versions of the gingerbread man story and creating their own stories, my students were given a STEAM Challenge: Make a boat that gets the Gingerbread Man across the river without getting wet. @EcoleSprings @WinnipegSD

Mrs. Bova's grade 1 class created diyas for Diwali. They model magic, glitter glue, shiny stars and flowers. They added a tea light in the centre. the children were very excited to take them home and share with their families. Happy Diwali! @WinnipegSD @Bova_WSD

Mrs. Bova's grade 1 students read The Peace Book by Todd Parr. The children wrote about what peace means to them and how they can demonstrate peacefulness. They then created their own poppies using tissue paper. @Bova_WSD @WinnipegSD

Check out our Fall Leaf Patterns! The children had to name their pattern, identify the core and translate the pattern into actions. The shape and colour of the leaves are based on the characters in the picture book, “The Falling Leaves.” @EcoleSprings @WinnipegSD @MutchmorMath
