Why is @deptinfra stating that the Quoile Bridge is closed (also @BBCNewsNI) as it's dangerous and CLEARLY falling apart yet it is not closed? 7T tractors towing 20T trailers every 10 mins, articulated lorries and dozens of cars every minute! @UTVNews @beltel @CadoganEnright

@wmarti15 @BBCNolan You do know that speeding tickets cost about 1.8 times more to collect than they recoup, don't you? So how are they making "a good few quid"?

@BBCNolan Yeah that should make a good few quid, that's all the difference it will make. If u chose to ignore limits now as many do then changing the limit won't matter. Just makes it so more accidents could happen from people staring at the speedo

@wmarti15 @BBCNolan I can drive at any speed and not "stare at the speedo". That's because I'm aware of what is going on around me and what I'm doing (i.e. I'm driving with due care and attention). I bet you don't look at your mirrors every 10 seconds like you're supposed to.

@BBCNolan It would be great if NI drivers would drive as slow as 30mph in 30mph areas first. We should have a zero tolerance policy - lots of detection to get people to slow to 30mph (not 30 +/-10% +3 - i.e. 36mph). 6pts and a £90 fine for driving at 30.001 mph.

@GabrielScally The G.B. government cannot afford N.I. and even if it could, it would look after G.B. first, as it always has done.

@Illustrato13252 @AmandaFBelfast Do you not think those people "at the top" have all their bases covered? Even if the drugs make it through the multiple layers from inbound to the street, they have ensured nothing links them to the shipment. PSNI can't simply hold back and wait for "Mr Big" to collect.

That’s a lot of cocaine. NCA statement: A Lithuanian lorry driver has been charged after cocaine worth around £6.8 million was seized as part of an ongoing National Crime Agency investigation. Edgaras Slusnys, 37, who was living in Northern Ireland, was arrested by NCA officers after his lorry was stopped on Friday evening (23 September) in Liverpool. The truck, registered with a Northern Ireland-based haulier,  was searched with assistance from Merseyside Police and Border Force. Officers recovered 136 kilos of cocaine from within a sophisticated hide in the rear doors of the lorry’s trailer, which when cut would have a street value of £6.8 million. Slusnys was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court yesterday (25 September). He has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 23 October. NCA Branch Commander David Cunningham said: “This seizure has dealt a significant blow to an organised crime gang, and removed a substantial quantity of dangerous drugs from the streets. The investigation continues to identify and bring to justice all those involved.”

@ChrisHazzardSF Where is "Malvinas"? It's not on any map I can see. Being "regarded" as a war criminal is not the same as "being" a war criminal. Let justice prevail (oh... wait...)

BBCs ‘Rise of the Nazis’ is excellent, however the participation of the British Military General Mike Jackson will sit uneasy with the people of Derry, Belfast, Iraq, Malvinas, Croatia & Kosovo where he is regarded by many as a war criminal

This is how a seal sleeps Because they are sleeping and not actively swimming, they can stay under water much longer than when hunting for food (which is on average about 30 minutes) [📹 Michael Boyd / michaelboyyd]
