I hope and pray that Project Hail Mary has euphoric word-of-mouth because these are not good opening weekend numbers with a budget of 250 million.

@JohnHPiette @BlackMajikMan90 WOM will be crucial, but yes you are right.. especially Sci-Fi about space always struggles, infact all the big box office are from 10 years ago (The Martian, Passengers, Interstellar).. More recently we had only disappointment (First Man, Ad Astra, Mickey 17)

@BlackMajikMan90 Ryan Gosling isn't bankable. I'm sorry, because he's a wonderful actor, yet anytime he leads a film, it goes bust (First Man, The Fall Guy, The Nice Guys, The Gray Man), regardless of how good those pictures are. If a woman had as many flops as he did, she'd be Katherine Heigl.
