‼️ It's the day, and without being disrespectful, I think it's going to be a long night for the British Fans in New York.

Incredible performance from Dalton Smith. Meant business from the off, landed solid precise shots to dominate first few rounds. Then showed proper mettle, fought fire with fire, and knocked out the division's supposed 'dangerman'. Amen, new champ. #Boxing #MatiasSmith

Going through a bit of a lull at the moment, but welter's always been a classic division. The 90s era onwards was jam-packed with quality fights. FWIW, my top 3 performances from the list: 1. Bud TKO Spence 2. Mosley TKO Margarito 3. Pac TKO Cotto

I'm considering closing up shop on @80sBoxing. I started this account some 6 to 7 years ago and I've thoroughly enjoyed spreading the good word about the legendary fights and fighters of the 1980s. I've met some great folks here and learned a ton, but I've been feeling a bit burned out lately and I think I'm going to shut down the semi-daily posts of #OTD fights, birthdays and 80s boxing history. Everything I've ever posted will remain archived as long as this place exists, but I'll probably convert this account to a personal one that still may tweet some boxing content occasionally, but as part of my own broader interests rather than the primary focus. Thank you to everyone who has supported my efforts here and especially to the ones who have gone out of their way to express their appreciation. You've made it all worthwhile, but I feel that my job is done here when it comes to this subject.

We present here a compendium of remarkable battles from The Nineties, complete with videos. It was a decade when anything seemed possible for boxing, and more actually happened than we could have expected. Check it out: thefightcity.com/fifty-epic-fig… #boxing #history

@RCFights @TeamMatchbook Split and majority decisions look like good value to me. Can't see either getting stopped and expect a close fight, with both winning their share of rounds.
