So we're not getting the 1p per Litre fuel duty rise, kids can go free on buses for a few weeks, and there's a 15% cut in VAT for a ride on The Waltzers. Fuck me, I don't know what to spend all this spare money I've now got on first. I might treat myself to a new bag for life at Tesco. Or upgrade my next Pot Noodle from standard to king sized.

@Sue97870938 @bencsmoke £300 a month is very much at the lower end of HB payments. The LHA rent cap in London for a privately rented 3 bedroom house is around £500 per week. That's supposedly based on market rates, but good luck finding a property in London for rent at that price.

@bencsmoke A relative of mine on an average wage rents an ex council house from a private landlord. He has over £300 a month in housing benefit a month. How is this sustainable.

being a landlord is morally repugnant. remains a great social failure that we allow landlords to extort profit from working people for the luxury of 'having shelter'. they must be taxed into oblivion, releasing housing stock, bringing down prices + making living affordable.

Surprise, surprise @wesstreeting is on @BBCr4today bashing landlords. I’ve got news for you mate, we can’t have a “productive nation” without people having homes, so if you want to tax Landlords to hell, I’d build some alternative accommodation first ‘cos you’re going to need it.

Most LA's are broke or on the verge of going broke. They don't have the money to buy up 1000's of properties. If central government gave them grants to do so, then it's a different story. But I can't ever see this happening, the public outcry from the homeowners who would see their own house value fall in response would be catastrophic for a government's reelection prospects.

@Remy_Mac_Priv He's just rage baiting now. I'm not sure if he's seen the news but everyone was screaming to be rescued from Dubai not long ago. He's moving out there for the luxury lifestyle. He could just say this, but nah. Gotta dump on the UK like all the other 'patriots'.
