It’s time the media stopped using the phrase ‘one of the world’s biggest football clubs’ about Manchester United. Been a long time since they were one of those.

@Boydie92 @giggsclass1 An improvement in what’s happening on the pitch? There’s not been one, not significant enough for it to make a difference and that’s proven in the results.

@giggsclass1 Unfortunately, nor is the manager. There’s been zero footballing positives since Amorim came in and I’ve backed him to the hills but we can’t keep playing the way he wants to play and expect success.

Do you remember when Jim Ratcliffe fired a bunch of working class normal people and told Gary Neville that United were on the brink of going bust? A couple months later, with no European football and no major sales, they’ve spent £208m on 3 players.

@RealTalkMCFC Agree with some of this but Ederson did break the record for most assists in a season for a goalkeeper last season 🥶

My honest opinion is that the advantage of playing with a sweeper keeper is mostly gone. Teams have tactically adapted by either pressing very high and man-to-man (much more coordinated than before) or sit in a mid-block. Either way, GKs are no longer in a position to pick out passes without feeling the pressure. In previous years, Ederson could get the ball back and just pick out any pass or long ball with ease. That rarely happens anymore. He’s more often put under immense pressure from the start and clearing the ball right away. That’s why traditional GKs are becoming the norm again, in my opinion. You see Donnarumma, a traditional shot-stopper, playing in a very possession-based team. Despite the fact that his weaknesses are with the ball in his feet. Does that matter? No, he makes up for it with his world class shot-stopping abilities. That’s why I honestly believe City should target a proper traditional, shot-stopper. Last season we conceded a lot of goals which could’ve been prevented with a better shot-stopper in goal. Does James Trafford fit this criteria? Well, he’s definitely a better shot-stopper than Ederson.
