this campaign of calumny against Tunde O is lazy at best. not everyone has the luxury of alignment. some people do work that cuts across divides - work that may collapse the moment it’s seen as partisan. in that position, neutrality is not cowardice; it’s a requirement for the work to survive and achieve its objectives. “but he has taken a side”. meanwhile, it’s a picture with the president of his country. an honorary ambassadorship from his state. opportunity to speak with young people (his primary target) at an event - organized by the president’s son. guess who else has a picture with the president. guess who else is a sports ambassador for Ogun state. guess who else was invited to speak at that event (Tunde didn’t even attend) that people are not dragging. what are we doing? if you’re doing impactful work, people across political divides will court you. people across the world will court you. you will be in rooms with people you like and those you loathe. and for the sake of the work, you will chest it. because the work is bigger than your personal politics. and the idea that he needs Nigeria to stay bad so he can have more slum kids is … laughable. his work isn’t about preserving slums. it’s about developing people - through chess - discipline, how they think, opportunity, etc. that doesn’t disappear if things improve. and no matter who the president is, Nigeria will never run out of underserved communities. infact, the world will never run out of it. you’re forcing politics on something that isn’t built for it. and judging a constraint you don’t carry. if you think you’d do it differently, oya do it. build something impactful, take your stance, and sustain it. until then, it’s just noise. lazy noise. 🙂‍↔️

What is killing me is that this lying bastard is in the comments claiming that his tweet is being misunderstood when it’s bloody obvious that he constructed the tweet as it is to use another person’s likeness and image to farm engagement. A fool and more 🤣

Big respect to you @Wizarab10 💪🏼. On this space, a lot of people have called you “Sir Dîck” repeatedly, and I’ve never really seen you react badly or make a big issue out of it. But what happened today in Church, made me realize you truly deserve some accolades. In the church today, a man parked his car wrongly and blocked a family who needed to rush to the airport immediately after mass. They kept screaming until one of the MODs recognized the car and mentioned that it belonged to Dickson. Since he’s quite popular, they quickly started looking for him and eventually found him. As he was walked close to his car, the already frustrated man who had overheard that it was Dickson’s car, rushed to him and shouted angrily, “Hey Dìck! What kind of wicked act is this? Why you go keep us here like this na?” Dickson calmly responded, “Please, my name is Dickson, not Dick.” The man still upset replied, “You’re a dīck.” At that point, Dickson lost his temper and punched him, and a fight broke out. I'm sure by the time they would have settled everything, the family most likely would have missed their flight.

Nigeria is not hopeless because the leaders are lethargic. Every country reached that precipice and chose to either jump or retrace their steps. In Nigeria's case. The deeper problem is the years of neglect that has afflicted the Nigerian educational system and has therefore raised intellectually deficient people who do not have the mental facilities to think their way around a problem. Also, most people just don't read. A lot of intelligent people didn't pass through a formal educational system. But they'll all tell you they are avid readers. The quality of conversations and what usually trends on social gives us an insight into IQ level of the average Nigerian. It's a lot of gossip and low IQ topics that do not affect their lives in any way, shape or form. But since those are the topics that present a low barrier to entry IQ wise. That's what most people are able to participate in. The thought quality of a lot of Nigerians is severely impaired. What makes it truly hopeless is that anyone who's even of moderate intelligence can find their way out of the country and therefore abandon the rest behind. And the longer this goes on, the more hopeless the situation will become. We cannot build an economy on the brains of incompetent, low intelligence people. We need to invest in education. The hope is that if they somehow by some stroke of luck elect a somewhat competent leader. We can attract all those brains that left back to come back and build the country. We can supplement with hired expats. But it'll take at least a decade to reverse the rot if we start educational reforms today. Because it's in about 20 years that the newly upgraded brains will enter the job market.

Do you know what the main problem is with you folks and shite arguments like this? You are treating these children simply as symbols of governmental failure rather than as human beings with present, immediate needs. It is also evident most of you do not know how NGOs and Civil societies work. For example, you cannot simply walk up to a public school and start handing out incentives to pupils without due permission from the Ministry of Education. If you also try to antagonize the government, your efforts will be utterly frustrated. You will go on to condemn Tunde for compromising while you remain morally spotless but also entirely useless to the children in question. You want to keep them under the bridge, theoretically, so the bridge can function as an indictment of the state. Do you actually think you are more righteous by performing outrage on social media? Listen, the children under the bridge are already there. The question is not philosophical anymore. They are hungry, undereducated, exposed to violence, and statistically on their way to lives you hypocrites will later lament. If he leaves these children right now and start supporting your candidate, will this immediately destroy all the slums in Lagos State? All of you using these children's suffering as rhetorical ammunition against someone trying to address that suffering directly, I want to ask you plainly now: What exactly are you proposing instead, and when does it begin?

"Slum to School". The slum has to exist. Why does it exist? He knows why. I have no problem with his person. I also have no reason why he should pitch on Obi's or any other candidate's side. But you can't say you're angry, and then join in dining with the source of your angst.

I really dislike the people who think politics is merely a game. Those people who are impressed by election riggers because they "know how to play politics." Your quality of life is in the gutter but you're hailing the "master strategist."

Tinubu is a master at projecting strength even when he's weak. Nothing says a GCFR is weak like 6 of your top military commandants falling victim to terrorism with zero consequences for the terrorists. Nothing says a President is weak like insecurity in your country.

They never judged Buhari by his followers who in fact killed their fellow citizens in 2011 because their candidate lost a Presidential elections. They never judge Tinubu by his followers who are very violent and are threatening to kill and maim anyone who openly campaigns for the opposition in Lagos, Edo and other places. But yes, let's hang Peter Obi because of his supporters who are online throwing their weight behind their candidate and defending him from verbal attacks from Tinubu's gang. Hypocrites.
