So #Refugee by @AlanGratz is my all-time favourite read but this book is pulling me in right away! I love all the historical events he incorporates into a fictional novel. Great way to learn about History and open great discussions. Next read-aloud ✅

Giving me a task is almost a guarantee it’s going to get done. Whether it’s weeding a garden, cleaning or building something - even if I need to strap on a headlamp to finish in the dark. I just starting writing a new story.

@MickieGibbs2 I call it our “JAM”… journal about Math. They love it when I say… ok let’s JAM.!They’ve actually called our math workbook “peanut butter”. Whatever works!

Finally, it would be pretty cool if as many students as possible went to school next week with a copy of The Great Bear in hand, to show the school board that censoring Indigenous voices is not acceptable. /11

A few thoughts on what’s going on with Durham District School Board & The Great Bear. First of all, you can call it whatever you want. “Under review,” if it makes you feel better. When you pull a book from libraries, ask teachers to refrain from teaching it, it’s banning. /1
