I've dropped in at Vancouver city council briefly to listen to callers responding to Mayor Ken Sim's proposal for a zero-per-cent tax increase, which estimates have said would take $100 million in cuts. Not hearing much support so far

Mentions electrification: "But Electricity is Expensiiiive!" My family's combined electricity bill for heating, air conditioning (w/ heat pump), hot water, appliances, and 'gas' for EV charging (incl. multiple road trips) is averaging $60 a month.

Strolling through moodyville (north vancouver) this evening while visiting a friend. It’s interesting (and somewhat unusual) having a whole district redeveloping as town houses and apartment blocks vs just intensifying along the corridor roads. You end up with quiet small streets

Council is back in session this evening. A couple rezoning applications, and a housing agreement, as well as a few reports and presentations from staff. Including looking at an increase under the Energy Step Code and adoption of the Zero Carbon Step Code. #northvan #localgov

A reminder that fossil fuel companies Net0 pledges are meaningless and we need to stop pretending we can negotiate with them. We need to start regulating them.
