EXCLUSIVE: Colorado Rapids head coach Matt Wells talks process and tactics with The Denver Post in his first availability. He wants a dominant team, and quickly. “That’s the exciting thing for me, ... is that they can’t escape me,” he joked. denverpost.com/2025/12/23/mat…

Nick Cushing's No. 303 earns Summit FC point No. 1. Denver Summit FC earns its first-ever point on the road against a top-class Orlando team. Took a little bit of Kössler and a whole lotta grit. denverpost.com/2026/03/20/den…

Summit grabs the first first point in team history. Solid result on the road in Orlando against a potent attack. Abby Smith was fantastic in goal for Denver.

FINAL: Denver Summit FC gets its first-ever point against a top NWSL team in Orlando Pride on the road. Unreal effort to keep the game tied. Melissa Kössler has scored both of Summit's goals in its history. Barbra Banda equalized in the 60th. Abby Smith the MVP, IMO.

Unreal effort from Colorado State. A 3-point attempt at the buzzer to tie it misses. Michigan State escapes 65-62. Brooke Carlson pours in career-high 26 points. Incredible effort from CSU 📷Bryan Terry/The Oklahoman

61' Goal Orlando: Great cross by Ovalle and Barbra Banda gets a head to it over the small Ayo Oke. Abby Smith could only do so much in this game. VAR looked at a potential foul by Banda, to no avail. Pride has all the momentum 1-1

60' SAVE: My goodness Abby Smith. Summit has been last-ditch defending for a lot of this game, and nobody's been better at it than Smith the keeper. Incredible save down and to her left.

HALFTIME: Denver Summit leads Orlando Pride, 1-0. Summit has done really well to be up a goal, maybe even better to keep Pride scoreless in the 20 minutes that followed. Pretty open game so far. Ayo Oke is a stud.

42' Save Abby Smith: Smith is having a night. Ovalle picks Summit's pocket and takes a deep shot and Smith dives for her fifth save of the night. Orlando has controlled majority of possession since Denver scored. Summit still leads 1-0

24' GOAL SUMMIT! Guess who! It's Melissa Kössler again! Ayo Oke plays a good ball over the top to Natasha Flint, and she finds Kössler in behind. Denver Summit leads Orlando Pride in Orlando! 1-0 Summit

13' CHANCE Orlando: the very dangerous Barbra Banda gets out on the break, finds Jacquie Ovalle across goal, who puts it in. But Banda was offside in the buildup. Big break for Summit, which has had a great start to this one. 0-0

After 9000000 free throws in the first two quarterfinal games, we're getting a fantastic pace early in this one. Very up-and-down. CSU leads San Diego State 13-8 early. Fun start
