when my parents got divorced my mom got a house she couldn't afford and i watched a lot of fox bc we didn't have cable and one of the shows that played every single weekday was malcolm in the middle. it was my favorite for a lot of reasons and still holds up

the short answer is that I literally made a list of band names that sounded funny and this was the best one.
the slightly longer answer is that i fuckin love malcolm in the middle and i believe that crayon should be pronounced the same way as the "cran" in cranston
