(FR/NL) 🇧🇪 Aujourd’hui, j’ai ouvert les journées diplomatiques au Palais d’Egmont. Tous nos ambassadrices et ambassadeurs, venus des quatre coins du monde, réunis à Bruxelles pour une semaine. C’est toujours un moment particulier. Parce que derrière la diplomatie, il y a des visages. Des femmes et des hommes qui vivent loin de chez eux, parfois dans des contextes instables ou difficiles, pour aider nos compatriotes, défendre nos intérêts et porter la voix de la Belgique. Et le moment que nous traversons rend leur mission plus essentielle que jamais. Le monde change vite. Le droit international est contesté. Les alliances deviennent transactionnelles. La force remplace trop souvent la règle. Pour un pays comme la Belgique, l’isolement n’est pas une option. Notre sécurité, notre prospérité, notre influence dépendent de notre capacité à comprendre le monde, à anticiper les crises et à construire des partenariats solides. C’est exactement ce que font nos ambassadrices et ambassadeurs, chaque jour. Elles et ils sont nos yeux et nos oreilles sur le terrain, ouvrent des portes pour nos entreprises et protègent nos citoyens en difficulté. Je suis profondément fier de leur engagement, de leur expertise et de leur humanité. Dans un monde instable, notre diplomatie est une nécessité stratégique. C’est notre première ligne de protection. _______ 🇧🇪 Vandaag heb ik in het Egmontpaleis de diplomatieke dagen geopend. Al onze ambassadeurs, van overal ter wereld, een week lang samen in Brussel. Dat blijft een bijzonder moment. Want achter diplomatie schuilen gezichten. Vrouwen en mannen die ver van huis werken, soms in onzekere of moeilijke omstandigheden, om Belgen te helpen, onze belangen te verdedigen en België een stem te geven in de wereld. En net vandaag is hun opdracht belangrijker dan ooit. De wereld verandert snel. Het internationaal recht staat onder druk. Allianties worden steeds meer transactioneel. Macht weegt vaker zwaarder dan regels. Voor een land als België is isolatie geen optie. Onze veiligheid, onze welvaart en onze invloed hangen af van ons vermogen om de wereld te begrijpen, crisissen te voorspellen en sterke partnerschappen uit te bouwen. Dat is precies wat onze ambassadrices en ambassadeurs elke dag doen. Zij zijn onze ogen en oren op het terrein. Ze openen deuren voor onze bedrijven. Ze helpen landgenoten in nood. Ik ben oprecht trots op hun inzet, hun expertise en hun menselijkheid. In een onstabiele wereld is diplomatie een strategische noodzaak. Het is onze eerste verdedigingslinie. @BelgiumMFA
