Just got back from doing 30k steps in Japan in 28 degree heat and it was literally fine but 28 degree heat back in England is fucking diabolical

@TactFNC Yeah and it gets old watching people from other countries THINK we are just overexaggerating. Until they feel the heat themselves with no effective air con.....they have no idea.....

@Brandibuilds I'm lucky to have an AC unit in my room, but it's barely helping. It's supposed to be cooling to 16C, but it's still 29C in here. But without this AC? Man I'd be dying.

This is 94.6F in that wet, sticky horrible heat stuck inside buildings with no AC that are designed to trap heat for the winter. If you were wondering why everyone is complaining. This is why Global Warming is a problem.

@dummblond Totally feel this. I've hit a wall in terms of creative/UEFN now. I'm taking time away, enjoying the Summer etc, maybe it will reignite the passion eventually. But right now....genuinely what is the point

Imagine spending 7 years learning a special skill and then it slowly all falls apart. Now no matter how hard you work on that special skill, you might never find success in it again. Beating a dead horse saying I miss Creative but fuck I miss Creative. I feel the gap in my life where it was and every once in awhile it gets me. 🥲

Point of reference, my room is currently 44 C (111F for Americans)🥵 Try that, with high humidity AND NO AIR CON.....then get back to me....😭😭😭

@CentralScruty We don't exile anything. Most of us can't afford it. And our homes were built with the cold in mind, we used to be a pretty cold country.... But now we are a boiling hot one, with no air con and heavily insulated brick homes.......

The way you guys exile air-conditioning from your lives is something I'll never understand.

Non Brits: omg if you're hot just open the window or get an AC unit that goes out of your window. Average British window, which you can't alter if renting (only part that opens is the top half and it opens 3 inches...so also fuck you in a fire):

@Brandibuilds It was 102°F in the dishwasher area of the restaurant I work at. Had to do an 11am-10pm shift.

My thermometer shows that it was 31 degrees outside today.....🥵 And in my bedroom (with no air con, brick building, heavily insulated, its reading as 41 degrees)🔥❤️‍🔥 I'M DYING😭😭😭

@lgbtaegi I have the same problem, my room has skylight windows and the sun beams through them during the afternoon.... But my blackout curtains don't do anything, they just get hot and distribute that heat around the room......

my room is directly facing the sun so during heatwaves my room gets so fucking hot. i’m considering blackout blinds but there’s mixed answers on if they make the room more cool vs making it HOTTER. does anyone have blackout blinds and do they help?

@SoaRZelta Bro you have no idea lol. We’re surrounded by the Atlantic and North Sea which makes our heat so much nastier and humid than other places. With heat-retaining housing + no AC, it gets so uncomfortable and tiring. I’d rather a 40 Celsius in the U.S than a 25 Celsius in England🫩

ah yes it’s the time of year where brits who haven’t experienced proper heat moan about the weather, might not be pleasant inside where there’s no AC in buildings not made for heat sure but people are deluded if they think the outdoor temps are worse than tropical countries where you’ll be dripping sweat in the shade at 10am

@sleepynslaying2 Because we never have time to adapt to them.... It gets boiling for a bit, then goes away so our bodies have no time to get used to it.... Plus we have no air con, extremely insulated houses and very high humidity. What can we do really?🤣

i love that my whole feed is just fellow brits dying as if we have never experienced this weather before. heatwaves like this are a yearly occurrence and yet we never seem more prepared than the last 10 times they hit!
