@JomboyMedia Umpire here. According to NFHS Rule 6-1-1 it states “He (the pitcher) shall take or simulate taking his sign from the catcher with his pivot foot in contact with the pitcher’s plate.” meaning a pitcher can’t just step on the mound and pitch the ball. This is a clear as day balk.

@JoeOrrico99 Umpire here. This is a balk. Not for the reason you think it is though. When he first put his foot down he didn’t gain ground towards second. If you look at every chair move the pitcher gained ground towards second. If you don’t gain ground towards the base it is a balk.
