The bill got so crushing that this very state — the bluest in the country — was forced to 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 for undocumented adults in January 2026 to help close a $12 billion deficit.
