Michigan State To Make Elite 8 +200 It’s never a bad idea to back Tom Izzo for a run in March and this year should be no different. He has a core of veteran bigs, versatile wings, and a lead guard in Jeremy Fears who can take over any game in this tournament. As for their draw, I love how they’re positioned. They should skate past an underwhelming NDSU team in the first round. Then in the Round of 32, I think they’re a lock to beat either opponent. South Florida has been red hot in the AAC, but that conference is the weakest it's ever been. This is the same USF team that couldn’t cover a big game in the non-conference to save their lives and the same can be said about Louisville. For the Sweet 16 decider, I actually think there’s a good chance UCLA upsets UConn. I have nothing but respect for what Dan Hurley has built, but the talent on this year's roster isn't at the level of his past unfadable championship teams. Tarris Reed Jr. is a solid big but he’s nowhere near the dominant force of a Clingan or Sanogo. Their guards are talented but don't compare to the combinations of Castle, Newton, Spencer, Hawkins, and Jackson. Even if UCLA doesn’t knock them off, I believe the Spartans have the firepower to do it themselves.
