That is extreme to refuse to pitch but I get the rationale behind this comment. The summer is when guys get recruited and if that is the goal then pitchers have to have a balanced workload and doing proper arm care to align with that goal. THE issue is coaches abusing pitchers

@MWRecruitingLLC @BASEBALLSCOUTZ They go to see specific players and specific organizations. Organizations that are consistently producing guys coaches will come watch them. Have had many conversations with D-1 coaches that showed up with no main guy in mind but wanted to talk and watch players on a top team.

Have incorporated this technique with both teams I have coached over the last 6 years. It is a cheat code, especially in amateur baseball. Being able to swipe bags opens up everything for your offense…more fastballs and more strikes.

Well earned opportunity for Coach Woods! Playing for Woods was an opportunity that taught me so much. More OFF the field then on. A lot of the life lessons, work ethic, and mental toughness I have now is credited to Coach Woods. A lot of my success in my career I owe to him. 👊🏻

Ty has put WORK in to transform his body and put himself in a position to have a big year with the added speed and strength. Has the work ethic few do and is any coaches dream player as he checks off all the boxes ✅

@JBoyer2025 Key observation! It shows how important it is to not strikeout, especially with runners on…at the bare minimum put the ball in play to move OR score the run

@Brandon_Riley12 Strikeouts-hitters being the highest correlation is nuts with 3 true outcomes baseball being so popular.

Decided to do have some fun and do some analysis on the 2022 MLB season. As someone who is analytical in my day to day I wanted to take a look at team stats across all MLB teams this past season to see what variables had the strongest relationships to Wins. Thread 1/6

@dublinbats01 Yes, limit the Strikeouts especially with runners on 3rd - that is a no no! Haha for Joey I would consider any bunt he did as a hit attempt, no sac attempt with his speed 😂

@Brandon_Riley12 Get 'em on, get 'em over, and get 'em in -- and do it by not giving up outs. A K with 2 out and a runner on 3rd is bad, but, IMO, so is a sac bunt with a 1-5 hitter in the first 3 innings. Unless that hitter is Joey Lewis 😀
