The way the #Phillies reworked the contract of Cristopher Sánchez sets a horrible precedent for teams. Great for Sanchez, generous of the Phillies, but now a player that has far outperformed his agreed upon contract might ask his club to do the same. SXM 89 top of the hour.

@RoyalBeest23 @JimBowdenGM That includes a guy like Bryce Harper whose again and again wanted to renegotiate his contract. Was not happy with GM this offseason and now without a doubt thinks it’s his turn to re up his contract.

@JimBowdenGM Let’s try a different angle. Players want to play for teams that take care of their players. It’s really no different than what the Eagles did recently for Saquon Barkley. This is a longer play by the Phillies. I would think as a former GM, you’d have appreciated that nuance.

Every team is thinking about a lockout/ potential salary cap. This particular tax issue could be more effectual on Braves than a lot of stuff that comes from the next CBA because it only affects the Braves.

@ChoppinBravos The problem is we have to pay more to offset all the NY tax BS, so $280 in NY is nowhere near $280 in GA. They’ve got to figure out how to account for that or we’ll be screwed.
