Okay so I’ve seen the video of Cory Ruiz being shot in the head by officers and Jeremiah Gaines being taken into custody and I’ll explain… I’ll be as unbiased as I can. Cory Ruiz was reported to be armed with a knife. Officers went in to take him into custody and he pulled out the knife and swung it. In our training we are instructed to shoot anyone with a knife in a threatening manner. That’s why he was shot. Gaines, gave up. He laid on his stomach and complied with officers commands. Period. That’s the difference.

He is a hero. He never claimed to have all the answers, but his vast learned experience with HIV and other plagues was invaluable. We were groping in the dark. He and his colleagues shed light. Were they right about everything? No. Its science, not painting a house. Its math, making assumptions and trying different things. He dramatically stemmed the loss of life. He worked to come up with a cure. And he did this all against great denialism (Trump claiming we would all be in church by Easter, and holding super spreader rallies-RIP Herman Cain). He did this while Trump blathered about Clorox. And then when Trump needed to be rescued, he delivered. Thank you Dr. Fauci from the bottom of my heart.

Nurse here… the only people I know who died from Covid were not vaccinated. Majority were prior to a vaccine being available. Easy to say what should have been done differently after the mass dying stopped but rewriting history is another level of ignorance.
