If you want my take on UEFN experiences, yes, most of it is slop, and I agree with most of you. There is a reason us at BiomeForge have yet to release our large maps despite them being in development for a roughly year. We strive for immense quality, even though we may get nothing in return due to the algorithm. We have been fighting with UEFN issues as a result of working on projects with high ambition for 3 years now. It has been a tug of war with epic for experiences that may never get attention outside of Twitter. We have strived for the best quality and detail possible in any UEFN experiences, yet still have never released anything as such, due to use wanting perfection, and also delays due to constant issues preventing development from progressing smoothly. Creative and Discovery as a whole is a mess, the tools are a mess, and everyday for is stressful, riddled with issues and frustrations. Sadly, you will never see our experiences advertised outside of our socials due to how epic handles them. Yet, we persist, and will continue to develop these experiences despite these constant issues and challenges, because we promised to deliver them, and our creative visions continue to fuel our development. All of this and I can assure you we will barely make anything from these maps, and realistically, all that matters to me, is the player has fun and remembers the experiences. That is what drives the motivation, not money. Through all of the pain, suffering, frustration, issues, we will continue, even if its not in our best interest.

Btw, I know it’s easy to point fingers at UEFN, but it’s not actually the reason. The UEFN team has been stretched thin ever since the first round of layoffs, and it’s only gotten worse. The real issue is that they’re not listening to the community and ppl are leaving the game.

@BreadlyBrain Yes this is a full workaround. It tells the editor to not cook certain assets until you can at least load into the session, from there you can undo the exclusions and load into the map as normal since half of it was already cooked

Btw, this isn't cheesing anything, it allows you to set a percentage of your total actors that wont be cooked when you load into the next session, basically they wont exist in-game. This allows you to cook less data into a session without deleting actors, and its pretty fast.

I have developed a Python Tool that "fixes" the cooker out of memory error by allowing you to cook your project in batches by excluding assets in groups. It completely fixed Hyperion within 30 minutes. No launch just yet until quality and reliability are assured. Patience...

I’m sorry to say this still hasn’t been fixed as of 40.00. It’s extremely disappointing. They’ve said multiple times it would be fixed but it still hasn’t happened. It’s hard being a UEFN creator dealing with issues like this

The Memory Cook will be fixed in 40.00! Once that’s taken care of I’ll fully be returning to UEFN remakes and updates/new maps will start rolling out again You can expect CH5S3 and CH3S2 to be back as soon as possible with more map announcements coming soon 👀
